Suzanne Corcoran, therapist in Maryland
Your relationship with a therapist is an extremely important one. The therapist must create a safe, non-judging and comfortable place for you to share things that are very personal to you. You will want to share long held secrets, fears and aspirations and the therapist will need to listen and understand what it is like to be you while being honest about your struggles and educating you about mental health issues. Therapy can help you follow a path of self-discovery which will lift your spirits and ultimately help drive away the harmful symptoms you may have. Read more about my individual counseling services….
Imago therapist Suzanne Corcoran in Maryland
The Imago marriage counseling method first appeared in the book Getting the Love You Want, which has sold over 2 million copies. Author Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. says that ‘chemistry’ is actually an unconscious attraction to someone who we think will meet our particular emotional needs. Unconsciously what we really want is to finally get what we did not get in childhood from our partner – a person who is like the people who didn’t give us what we needed in our childhood.
